Characteristics of Tepelena

The Municipality of Tepelena is bordered on the north by the Municipality of Memaliaj, on the east by the Municipality of Këlcyra, on the south by the Municipality of Gjirokastra and on the west by the Municipalities of Himara and Selenica. The capital of the Municipality is the city of Tepelena. This municipality consists of 4 administrative units: Tepelena, Center Tepelena, Lopa and Kurvelesh. Tepelena has a population of 8,949 inhabitants and covers an area of 431.24 km2 with a density of 12.1 inhabitants / km2.
